Massage

Total Body Balance is dedicated to bringing equilibrium to the lives of busy Londoners. Most people live an existence short on time and heavy on stress. This can lead to imbalance in both our physical and emotional state, such as a sore neck and shoulders from spending too much time in front of a computer, or feelings of stress, anxiety, difficulty sleeping or mood swings.

Taking time out on a regular basis to readdress these imbalances can avoid the physical and emotional symptoms associated with our chaotic lifestyles. And Total Body Balance is here to facilitate this sense of peace and equilibrium through the use of Massage Therapy, Reflexology and Reiki healing.

Pregnancy Massage

Massage

Pregnancy is a time when a woman’s body is put under tremendous strain, with most expectant mothers experiencing some kind of lower back or hip pain, and fluid retention.

Regular massage after the first trimester can be a pleasurable experience for both mother and baby, and can safely take place right up until shortly before the birth.

Pregnancy Massage uses classical massage techniques combined with specially adapted positions in order to ensure that both mother and baby are comfortable throughout the treatment.

On-Site Massage

On-Site Massage (OSM) is a form of massage designed for office environments. It takes place in a specially designed chair that allows the client to receive the treatment fully clothed and in a comfortable, relaxed position.

The massage itself lasts between 15-20 minutes and uses the principles of acupressure, whereby energy and tension is unblocked using finger pressure points along a network of meridians. During the treatment, most of the points worked on are located in the upper body, neck and shoulders, just the areas that suffer most when stuck behind a desk.

It’s a time efficient way to reduce stress and tension, and has been proven to aid in concentration and productivity and boost staff morale.

Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non invasive therapy based on the principle that specific points on the feet are connected to every organ, gland and system of the body via thousands of nerve endings. By stimulating these points, the body’s own healing mechanism is activated, returning it to a state of equilibrium.

Reflexology detects imbalances, tension and congestion in the body. The therapist will use a variety of techniques to put pressure on reflex points with a view to releasing any blockages. During the treatment the patient will feel many sensations when different parts of the foot are worked on. 'Congested' areas may feel uncomfortable but as the area is treated this disappears. Many people experience a feeling of lightness and relaxation after a treatment with a renewal of energy.

Reflexology can help manage the symptoms of many conditions including:

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a natural form of healing originating in Japan, and roughly translates as Universal Life Energy. Healing energy is channeled through a trained practitioner and flows into the whole body and mind of the recipient. The energy magnifies the body's own capacity for self-healing. Treatment is received fully clothed, and works well as a therapy in its own right.
